Euston Station, Offices and Signal Box

Station built to replace Philip Hardwick original station of 1837, including the Euston Arch, controversially demolished for the 1968 replacement. An unused plan for the new station was undertaken by a team from Taylor Woodrow, including members of the Archigram collective but was dropped with Roy Moorcroft and his BR team overseeing the finished station. The station is low on thrills but nice details include the ticket hall ceiling in coffered concrete and the ticket hall’s egg box ceiling. The Power Signal box to the north of the station, (possibly part of the early Archigram plan?) has now been been demolished for the possible arrival of HS2.
